With Samsung Galaxy Note 7 officially dead, the company is looking for ways to boost sale of its other devices. According to a report on The Korea Herald, Samsung will unveil a new glossy black colour variant for Galaxy S7 early next month. The move aims to take on Jet Black and Matte Black colour variants of the iPhone 7 series. To recall, Samsung already has a black colour version for Galaxy S7. However, the option is supposed to be more ‘glossy’ as per report.
As Samsung prepares to promote the sales of its Galaxy S7 series; recent reports indicate
Apple iPhone 7 sales have slowed down. Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are just two months old, and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the phones have already reached peak demand, and are now facing a downward trajectory in sales.
Some earlier reports suggest Apple is stands to gain from the Note 7 fiasco and is planning to launch a ‘Jet White’ variant for iPhone 7 to counter Samsung Galaxy S7. Leaked renders of the device cropped up on a Japanese blog, and suggests that Apple might be planning to introduce a new variant mid-cycle to drive up sale.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that Samsung has come up with a new colour variant to take on its rival. The Korean smartphone giant had introduced a ‘pink gold’ variant of Galaxy S7 earlier this year, after Apple launched ‘Rose Gold’ colour option for its iPhone 6s series.
