Reliance Jio extends preview data, voice offer to Samsung smartphone users
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm has extended the three-month unlimited data preview offer to Samsung smartphone owners, ahead of the commercial launch in the country.
Under the offer, users of certain Samsung smartphones will get three months of free unlimited data and 4,500 minutes of voice calls, unlimited video calls, unlimited SMS, unlimited 4G data and Jio Premium apps for 90 days per 3 months.
ETTelecom independently managed to sign-up for the offer. (Please refer the screenshot)
In order to avail the offer, a Samsung user can download the MyJio app and check for the offer, which will reflect basis on the location and city. The app will generate the offer code, which includes a bar code, which can be used to avail the SIM at a Reliance Digital or Dx Mini Store nearby after submitting the identity, address proof and your photograph.
A User needs to dial 1977 to activate your Jio SIM through tele-verification, once he inserts the SIM in his Samsung smartphone.
According to FoneArena and Techpp, the offer is available for Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge Plus, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 5 / Note 5 Duos, Galaxy Note 4 Galaxy A8, Galaxy A5 2015 and A5 2016 and Galaxy A7 2015 and A7 2016.
Jio in early June began selling Lyf smartphones with SIM cards enabled for highspeed data services in bigger cities. Any new Lyf smartphone customer can avail the free Jio SIM card which comes with the three months preview offer.
Earlier today, ET reported that the much-awaited commercial launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm's 4G services may take place on August 15. Sources told ET that Jio's maiden plan likely to be called Freedom may offer free voice services bundled with data, priced at least 25% lower than current offerings of top rivals.
