Samsung’s new naming scheme is being put to good use, with a slew of four new Galaxy smartphones announced by the Korean giant – the Galaxy W, Galaxy Y, Galaxy Y Pro, and the Galaxy M Pro.
Under the new nomenclature, this translates to W for Wonder, M for Magical, and Y for Young. The Galaxy R and Galaxy S lines stand for Royal and Super Smart. Pro, as is usual, signifies the presence of a QWERTY keyboard, and other productivity features.
For now, no pricing or availability information has been revealed by Samsung, however, the company is expected to announce everything Galaxy related at the IFA exhibition in Berlin next week.
The new lot of four Galaxy smartphones will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and as of yet, the Galaxy Y Pro’s specifications have not been officially announced. They should be similar to the Galaxy Y’s specs, excluding the QWERTY keypad, optical trackpad, and business endowments like document editors, email clients, etc.
