The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was initially praised by
critics and buyers. Some even called it ‘the best
phone on the planet’. But things came crashing
down after multiple reports of the Galaxy Note 7
units exploding and catching fire. Faulty battery
was blamed to be the cause of explosion, and as
the count increased, Samsung had to recall the
devices. Even after replacing the faulty batteries,
the issue was persistent, prompting the company
to recall all the sold devices as it posed real
danger to safety of buyers.
Soon after the first reports of explosion emerged,
Samsung started to investigate the matter right
away. While it initially ran into trouble replicating
the issue, Samsung did promise to come out with a
formal explanation by the year end. We’re less
than a fortnight away from 2016 to end, and yet
Samsung hasn’t revealed any details of its
findings. After the thorough investigation for
months, Samsung is finally aware of what caused
the Galaxy Note 7 to explode, The
Investor reports. However, the company isn’t
ready to make a public announcement soon.
After completing its internal investigation, the
company reported its findings to Korea Testing
Laboratory and UL, but the results were not
shared with the press. There have been a lot of
reports about possible reasons behind the Galaxy
Note 7 catching fire. One of them suggests that
Samsung rushed to release the Note 7 before its
rival iPhone 7, leading to grave design
inconsistencies.
