Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S20 FE or “Fan Edition” today. It has released this new model to bring some of the best Galaxy S20 features to customers at more affordable price. The company does call it a “premium flagship,” though, but that’s beside the point.

It’s offering both LTE and 5G variants of the device.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S20 FE starts at $699 for the 5G variant in the United States. The base variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The handset is going to be released across the globe on October 2.

With NO 5g network in sight, I guess, we will get 4G version with Exynos990.

Samsung had started rolling out the One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy S20 FE a few days ago. However, the company seems to have pulled the update, and it is no longer available to download. The Galaxy S20 FE was launched last year with Android 10, but it received the Android 11 update with One UI 3.0 two months ago.

The One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is now once again rolling out to select variants of this budget flagship.

Namely, the One UI 3.1 OTA is designated as the release version G781BXXU2CUB5. The main implication of that label is that the original firmware wasn’t pulled due to any technical issues – this is still the same package as before. The overall download size hence remains hefty, at over 1.7GB.
