After teasing its Galaxy On Nxt on social media, Samsung has inadvertently revealed the next-in-line of its Galaxy On series smartphones. Even before its official launch at 8:00PM tonight, the Galaxy On Nxt smartphone has shown up on the company’s official site revealing the price tag of Rs 18,490. The smartphone is available in two color choices of gold and black. Off late, Samsung has been launching its new Galaxy On series smartphones in partnership with two of India’s biggest e-commerce platforms — Flipkart and Amazon. The Galaxy On Nxt will also be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting 8:00PM.

In tune with the teaser video posted by
Samsung, the Galaxy On Nxt features a full metal unibody design and comes with a full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. Given the recent Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the launch of Galaxy On Nxt at Rs 18,490 is likely to minimize the burning disappointment in the hearts of Indian users who had been long waiting for the flagship device.

Samsung Galaxy On Nxt specifications

The Galaxy On Nxt features a 5.5-inch full HD display offering 1920×1080 pixels resolution. In line with the rumors, the smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It further includes 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with the help of a microSD card.

On the camera front, the Galaxy On Nxt features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and flash. The f/1.9 aperture claims to offer brighter and clearer images even in low light, and the camera is further capable of video recording in full HD (1920×1080) @30fps. In the sub-Rs 20K segment, the Galaxy On Nxt competes with the likes of Lenovo Z2 Plus ,
Honor 8 Smart , and OnePlus 2 . The Lenovo Z2 Plus was launched late September with prices starting Rs 17,999 for a 3GB RAM variant and Rs 19,999 for a 4GB RAM variant. On the battery front, the Z2 Plus features a slightly bigger 3,500mAh battery. While the Galaxy On Nxt offers memory expansion capability, the Z2 Plus comes only in 32GB or 64GB variants with no option to further expand the storage.

Launched this month, the Honor 8 Smart is a variant of the Honor 8 and is priced at Rs 19,999. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by the Kirin 650 octa-core chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy On Nxt also competes with the OnePlus 2 which is priced at Rs 17,999. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor coupled with 4GB RAM. It comes with internal storage of 16GB, but with no option of further expansion. On the camera front, the OnePlus 2 offers 13-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording ability. The selfie camera is only 5-megapixel which in the new Galaxy On Nxt is at 8-megapixel.
