While headlines are ripe with Samsung's Tizen OS-based smartphone touted to be launched this month itself, buzz has it that the South Korean giant is also looking to launch another budget device in the Indian market soon. A new report by NDTV Gadgets suggests that the alleged Samsung Galaxy Core Prime will be launched soon in India at a price to the tune of Rs. 9,599.
The basis of the report is a Facebook posting by an established Mumbai-based smartphone retailer, Mahesh Telecom that has revealed the pricing and specifications of the said device. It must be however noted that there is no official word from Samsung regarding the device as of now.
Reportedly, the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime smartphone will feature a 4.5-inch WVGA PLS (plane-to-line switching) TFT display with a 480x800 pixels resolution. It will reportedly be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) alongside 1GB of RAM. It will come with 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The device is tipped to sport a 5MP autofocus rear camera, along with a 2MP front-facing camera. The dual-SIM device will run Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box (no word on the kind of skin used).
Connectivity options on the device have been tipped to include: Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 3G. It is expected to be backed by a 2000mAh battery.
