A new leaked screenshot of Samsung’s upcoming One UI 2.5 suggests the Korean tech giant will begin pushing ads in its stock apps and even on the lock screen. According to speculation, the ads will only show up on budget Samsung offerings in the A and M-series. The sample ad shows a 15-second timer on the lock screen which you need to watch before you can unlock the device.

Following the footsteps of Xiaomi.

Why this bias? Equal treatment of customers is very essential to retain the brand loyalty. I remember Geeky Ranjit obliterating Xiaomi for its bias in pushing ads in lower end redmi phones but refraining from doing it in Mi 10. Realme has joined this bandwagon too, but we can disable it in settings it seems.

15 seconds ad before the unlock!

Samsung has taken one step ahead of Xiaomi.

Never expected this from Sam's 😤😔 .. 15 secs ad before unlock ridiculous thing 🤬😤

Xiaomi don't put ads on home screen or lockscreen. MIUI push ads through the system apps only. Mostly non intrusive where you can use the device/app along with the ads. Unlike this idea from samsung where you have to watch the ad before you can unlock the device. This is one step (actually many steps) ahead of Xiaomi.

Also, In Xiaomi, we can almost disable all ads.
