Rilee Rossouw has been called up to the South Africa A squad for the upcoming limited-overs tournaments in Zimbabwe and Malaysia as a replacement for Dean Elgar, who has had to pull out with a broken hand. The 21-year-old Rossouw, a left-hand top-order batsman, was on the South Africa A tours of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka last year.

He was also a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the IPL but didn't get a game during the tournament. Rossouw came through the Under-19s and impressed in the 2008-09 domestic season in South Africa finishing as his side's highest run-getter. He has also got four hundreds in List A cricket and has a strike-rate of 92.72

Elgar's hand injury was confirmed by the CSA medical committee. "We are sorry to lose a senior player at this level in Dean, who has also captained this group with distinction," CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson said, "but at the same time this is an opportunity for Rilee and, as I have said before, we are delighted to have the depth that enables us to call up a replacement of this calibre."

South Africa A will play a tri-series against Zimbabwe A and Australia A in Zimbabwe in June-July
