The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Darren Bravo and Rohit Sharma 15 percent of their respective match fees after the pair was found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct on the final day's play in the fourth Test between India and West Indies in St Lucia on Saturday (August 13).
According to an official release, the players were found to be in violation of Level 1 Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game."
Despite multiple warnings from the on-field umpires Nigel Llong and Rod Tucker, the feisty duo was seen constantly exchanging words in heated arguments during the course of the day's play. Llong and Tucker, along with third umpire Gregory Brathwaite and fourth umpire Nigel Duguid, laid the charges against them.
After the game, which India won by 237 runs to seal the four-match series, Rohit and Bravo accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
The action now shifts to Port-of-Spain for the fourth and final Test between India and West Indies, starting on August 18.
