India medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar
Kumar's tour of Australia has been cut
short soon as he suffered a hairline
fracture on his left hand.
Bhuvneshwar was ruled out of the
fifth one-day international against
Australia at Syndey Cricket Ground on
Saturday (23 January) due to the
injury. He will also miss the three T20Is
that follow. Rishi Dhawan has been
named his replacement.
"BCCI medical team has confirmed that
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled
out of Indias tour of Australia after he
fractured his left-hand thumb. All-
rounder Rishi Dhawan has been
included in the T20I team as
Bhuvneshwars replacement," BCCI
confirmed in a statement.
The right-armer was struck on the left
hand by a David Warner shot in the
11th over of the fourth ODI in
Canberra. Bhuvneshwar had looked in
a lot of pain, but was able to complete
his full quota of overs.
