Freedom 251 maker Ringing Bells today announced the launch of an ultra-affordable LED TV in India. Priced at Rs 9,900, the Freedom LED TV will be available starting August 15. The company has also revealed that it will start delivering the Freedom 251 smartphone, and as reported before, it will roll out only 5,000 units in the first phase. This is way lower than what was initially promised by the Noida-based company
Freedom LED TV:
The TV comes with 31.5-inch LED display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, and features two HDMI ports, USB ports and two 3 Watt speakers. A you would expect, this is among the cheapest LED TVs you can buy today. It however remains to be seen if the company is able to fulfill its promises. It is one thing to announce an ultra-cheap LED TV, but the question is can it deliver? If the entire Freedom 251 smartphone saga is anything to go by, there is little to no chance that the LED TVs will start rolling out from August 15.
If promising to deliver an ultra-cheap smartphone and an LED TV is not enough, Ringing Bells also launched four new feature phones, and two smartphones as well. The funny thing is the feature phones launched today are all priced higher than the Freedom 251 smartphone.
Feature phones :
Ringing Bells has launched the Hit for Rs 699, King for Rs 899, Boss for Rs 999 and the Raja for Rs 1,099. The Hit is the cheapest among the four feature phones. It comes with a 1.8-inch display, 2-megapixel primary camera and is backed by a 1,250mAh battery. The feature phones King and Boss come with a 2.4-inch TFT display with 2-megapixel primary camera and storage of 32GB, which is further expandable via an SD card. The King is backed by a 1,800mAh battery, while the Boss is backed by a 2,200mAh battery. The Raja, on the other hand, has a 2.8-inch TFT display, and the rest of the specifications remain the same. and has the same specifications are the same as King and Boss.
Smartphones:
Ringing Bells also launched two new smartphones, called Elegant and Elegance. Both smartphones feature a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 1GB DDR3 RAM and are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Both smartphones also feature an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 3.2-megapixel selfie camera. The only difference between the smartphones is on the battery front. Where the Elegant features a 2,500mAh battery, the Elegance features a 2,800mAh battery.
Ringing Bells has promised that delivery of the mobile phones will start sometime later this month. The company is also offering a 180-day replacement guarantee on all its four new feature phones.
