Six months after the soft launch of Reliance Jio’s 4G LTE services, the network is now open for everyone. Last month, the company had started an invite system where Reliance employees could bring up to 10 of their family and friends to try out the next-gen high-speed 4G LTE services. Reliance Jio has now made its official website Jio.com live , where select users who register for the service can avail a LYF -branded smartphone along with the 4G SIM card.
As a bonus for joining the Reliance Jio network, the company is also offering unlimited data for the first three months along with 4,500 minutes of talktime. The LYF-branded smartphones with 4G LTE and VoLTE support and 4G SIM cards are also available across Reliance Digital Stores and Reliance Digital Mini stores in India. Reliance Digital is also in talks with other retail chains such as Croma Retail to sell the LYF smartphones, ET reports.
Ever since the soft launched in December, Reliance’s retail arm, Reliance Digital, has launched a range of LYF-branded Android smartphones with price starting at Rs 3,999 and up to Rs 19,399. One of the key highlights of these smartphones is that they support 4G LTE for data and VoLTE for HD voice calling. Within three months of its launch, LYF has also managed to become India’s fifth-largest smartphone vendor with a market share of seven percent.
Along with faster connectivity, the Reliance Jio is also pushing its app ecosystem, which includes apps such as JioChat, JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioXpressNews, JioDrive, JioMoney and JioSecurity.
