Reliance Digital has added another product to its sub-brand for consumer electronics, Reconnect. The company behind LYF-series of 4G VoLTE smartphones has launched Jive, which is a wireless speaker. It is priced at Rs 5,990 and is available at Reliance Digital, Digital Xpress, and AJIO.com.
The Reconnect Jive features a hexagonal design measuring 550 x 215 x 300 mm which appears slightly bulky. What compensates for the looks is its 70W sound output, which is significantly powerful in the given price range. Another highlight of the speaker is that it comes with multi-colored LED flashlights which making it apt for use at party spheres. The bass-heavy sound output is delivered by a combination of two satellite speakers and a subwoofer speaker.
Other than being Bluetooth-enabled, the Reconnect Jive also comes with one USB port, one SD card slot, and two 3.5mm auxiliary input support. It also comes with built-in FM. The device further comes with two-way placement which basically means you can either place it flat horizontally or make it stand like a tower speaker. There are no details whether the speaker has an inbuilt battery for a truly wireless experience.
Although the speaker comes with physical buttons, you can also operate it using a remote control that is bundled with the product. In the box, you will get one 3.5mm stereo cable and one antenna cable other than the instruction manual and remote control.
At the given price, the Reconnect Jive competes with the Envent Rock U Bluetooth tower speaker. Priced at Rs 4,999, the speaker delivers 60W sound output and comes with an AUX port, USB port, and a remote control for added support. It also comes with built-in FM and a LED display panel. According to the Amazon listing, the Envent Rock U speaker weighs about 13 kg while the Reconnect Jive is half the weight at just 6 kg.
