Reliance Jio is reportedly extending its three-month unlimited data preview offer to Apple iPhone and HP device users in India, a move aimed at increasing the Mukesh Ambani-led telco's subscriber base ahead of its commercial launch.

Apple iPhone users will have to install the My Jio app to avail the offer.
Earlier ET reported that users of certain Samsung smartphones are being offered free unlimited 4G data and 4,500 minutes of voice calls, unlimited video calls and SMS and Jio Premium apps. This is similar to the plan offered only to users of Reliance Retail's Lyf-branded smartphones.
Jio may go commercial with its 4G services as early as next month. ET reported in its July 14 edition that Jio is preparing for a commercial launch in August with its maiden plan called Freedom, which may offer free voice services bundled with data, priced at least 25% lower than the current offerings of top rivals.
Jio services are currently available through the preview offer under the trial launch in the country. The company said it served more than 1.5 million customers.
RIL added that the average monthly consumption per user on the Jio network is in excess of 26 GB and is increasing rapidly. Average voice usage per month is over 355 minutes.
"During the quarter (ended June 30), RJIL extended its trial services to all LYF devices users under the Jio LYF Preview Offer. This has enabled testing of all the services to customers outside the initial set of test users," RIL said in a statement Friday, as part of its first quarter earnings announcement.
The company had said that the trial programme will gradually be upgraded into commercial operations in the coming months. It said that the feedback had been encouraging, with all the digital applications tested extensively as part of this program.
