Reliance Jio Infocomm amassed nearly 4 million additional subscribers in April , the highest among all carriers, taking its base to over 112 million for the month. The Mukesh Ambani owned new carrier had a partially enhanced its share of the market to 9.58%, from 9.29% in March.
While the April addition of 3.87 million has been lower than March’s 5.83 million subscribers, the carrier held on to its No 4 position in the market, fighting it out with Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular that sustained their top three positions in that order, with 23.54%, 17.86% and 16.69% shares, respectively.
According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, net addition of 4.41 million customers happened in April, even when Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices and Telenor lost more than 1 million each, while Aircel lost 0.3 million in the month.
