FoneArena has received exclusive information that Reliance Jio is extending the Jio Lyf Preview 90 day offer till August 31st for those early buyers who had got unlimited data,calls and messages along with the purchase of a Lyf phone in the month of May. The 90 day period would have been over by August 10th in the case of our user and he has gotten a recharge couple of hours ago which extends the validity till August 31 which means an extra 20 days of unlimited access.
To confirm , we checked the plan details on our in-house Lyf device and number and we see that our number was supposed to lose the unlimited free benefits on August 12 but it is now got the preview offer till August 31st.
It is not clear if all Lyf users are getting this free extension till August 31st or only select ones. We checked the status of another connection taken in the month of May and it is still showing validity till August 14 only.
Jio is expected to make a major announcement on August 15 and this move could be linked to that. After launching the Lyf Preview offer on a invite only basis , the company later dropped the invite requirement and required only the purchase of a Lyf device and most recently announced the preview offer for select Samsung smartphones.
