Reliance Jio 4G: Here are the VoLTE-enabled smartphones compatible with Jio network

Reliance Jio has long been preparing to commercially launch its 4G LTE services in India, but the launch keeps on being delayed. In December last year, the company had a soft launch of its services, but as a part of testing, it’s only available for Reliance employees.

Reliance Jio is believed to be the game changer in the telecom industry as the operator has pan-India 4G licence, and is expected to launch affordable 4G data plans and devices. One of the main highlights of Jio’s 4G service is the voice calling on the network, known as VoLTE.

This simply means users can make voice calls on 4G network. Reliance Jio’s VoLTE is likely to deliver HD voice clarity and faster call connectivity. Initially, Reliance Jio will be offering VoLTE with the Lyf-branded smartphones available through Reliance Digital stores. The operator is expected to launch standalone SIMs as well in the near future. Besides, Reliance Digital’s LYF smartphones, there are few smartphones that have 4G and VoLTE support. Some smartphones may need a software update to enable this feature, whereas others may completely lack it.
