Reliance Digital has quietly launched two new smartphones under its LYF lineup. One of them is the LYF Water 9, which is priced at Rs 8,499, while the other is the LYF F1 Plus, which has been spotted on Snapdeal with a price tag of Rs 13,099. The LYF F1 Plus, as the name suggests, is a variant of the LYF F1 that was launched in India last week.
Both smartphones are bundled with Reliance Jio’s Welcome Offer. This offers users with unlimited HD voice and video calls, unlimited SMS (restricted to 100 per day) till December 2016. In terms of high speed 4G data, there is a cap of 4GB per day, after which speeds will be cut down to 128Kbps, and will refresh post midnight. Users also get access to Jio’s suite of apps like JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioXpressNews, JioSecurity, JioDrive, JioMags and JioMoney among others. Analysts believe that Jio is likely to extend the validity of its Welcome Offer till March 2017 , as it looks to cross the 250 million users mark . Recently, the company announced that in just over a month it has managed to garner over 16 million users.

PhoneRadar. It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB onboard storage, but less than 12GB is available for users. One can however use a microSD card to expand the storage up to 32GB.
The smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, while up front there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is backed by a 2,800mAh battery that the company says is good enough for up to 10 hours of talktime and up to 115 hours on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. On the software front, the device runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 out-of-the-box, but the company promises it will soon be updated.
Going by the looks and the set of features, the LYF Water 9 is essentially a rebranded Haier Esteem V4. The only difference is LYF logo at the back, which replaces the Haier and Esteem logos. Priced at Rs 8,499, the LYF Water 9 will face tough competition from the likes of the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Coolpad Note 5, LeEco Le 1s Eco, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus to name a few.
