DMK president M K Stalin on Wednesday said his party is ready to lead a movement against the Union Government by refusing to pay the tax owed to it for betraying Tamil Nadu over the Mekedatu issue.

The DMK president said that if the deceit of the Centre continues, the DMK along with friendly parties and people were ready to organise a movement denying tax to the Centre, as did Gandhiji against the British.

Opposition parties won't allow Modi to enter TN if Mekedatu...

TRICHY: If the BJP government at the Centre continues with its plan to construct a reservoir across the Cauvery river at Meketadu in Karnataka, the opposition parties will not allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi into Tamil Nadu, said DMK president M K Stalin on Tuesday.

We staged a black flag protest against Prime Minister Modi and made him avoid travelling by road in the state, during our protest in the Cauvery river issue. Prime Minister Modi, please bear it in your mind that if you have the plan to betray Tamil Nadu with the Mekedatu project and if you don’t take action to save people of Tamil Nadu, we will create a situation that you will never come to Tamil Nadu,” said Stalin at a demonstration against the central government for allowing Karnataka to prepare a detailed project report for Mekedatu reservoir project across Cauvery river in Karnataka.
