Great move by Qualcomm... But all thanks to Mediatek, since it's their competition (plus recent success) that forced Qualcomm to take these wonderful steps. Competition is always good for, we the end consumers...

True.. Qualcomm was getting out of control with their chipset pricing. MediaTek gave them a tough competition.

Very TRUE... Qualcomm SD865 cost (including mandatory external 5G) is the only reason many phone makers to go with SD765, incl Google (for Pixel 5) and LG (Velvet and Wing). Only the unworthiness of Samsung Exynos 999, saved the day of SD865, imho (more markets with SD865 and of course less competition)... Let us hope Exynos 2100 and Dimensity 1000 series bring the much needed competition in Higher end SoCs, from this year...
