run in the Denmark Open
tournament as she defeated World
Number two Carolina Marin 21-15,
18-21, 21-17 to reach the maiden Denmark open final. This
is Sindhu's maiden entry into a final
of the super series tournament.
The match lasted 72 minutes and it
witnessed several close contests.
Marin, who had defeated Saina
Nehwal in the final of the World
Badminton Championships in August
, was on the back foot from the first
game itself as Sindhu played
aggressively to clinch the first set.
Marin bounced back in style in the
second set as she took the game to
Sindhu to win the set 18-21.
However, Sindhu held her nerve to
clinch the final set 21-17 to give
herself a great chance to secure her
