India Women's head coach Purnima Rau and assistant coach Suman Sharma have been sacked from their roles, two months ahead of the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup in the United Kingdom.

Tushar Arothe, the former Baroda batsman, will take over from Rau. India are scheduled to play a quadrangular series in South Africa against the hosts, Ireland and Zimbabwe in May ahead of the World Cup. Arothe has not been given an assistant coach under him yet, Cricbuzz has learnt.
