THE Pro Wrestling League is a big leap in the history of oldest combat sport. An initiative of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India, PWL is the richest wrestling event ever.
The league in the inaugural year offers a prize purse of Rupees 15 crore including the total prize purse of Rs. 3 crore. PWL with 6 city-based franchisee teams will have a Pan-India reach.
GMR Group, the owner of Delhi team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has bought the Delhi franchise.
The Uttar Pradesh and Haryana franchises have been picked by Noida-based real estate developer Lotus Greens and digital media agency Olive Global respectively.
As reported earlier, JSW Group has bagged the Bangalore franchise while veteran actor Dharmendra, along with CDR Group, has picked up the Punjab franchise.
The Mumbai franchise has been bought by a consortium of Maverick Industries, Mafatlal, and Garudacharya.
An initiative of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India, the inaugural edition of PWL carries a prize purse of Rs 15 crore (Rs 150 million).
The league will be played according to the PWL rules that based on Olympic rules in conjunction with Wrestling Federation of India rules.

Bangalore Yodhha: JSW Group CDR
Punjab Royals: CDR Group & Legendary Dharmendra
UP Warriors: Lotus Greens
Haryana Hammers: Olive Global
Mumbaiche Garude: Maverick Industries,Mafatlal & Garudacharya
Team Player:-
Each team will have nine players—five Indians, four foreign, five men, four women. In the inaugural year, PWL will feature 18 ties—15 in the league phase, two semi-finals and the grand finale.
Each tie will be contested on the best-of-nine-bouts format. Interestingly, all nine bouts will be contested in the league phase. PWL guarantees a minimum of 150 bouts.
