I am planning to busy airtel Exstream fiber with Rs.699 plan 40 mb speed. Expected this connection to support my office wfh support and dth channel viewing .

Pls clarify and share your experience.

1.is it worth buy this fiber + dth combo? Wil it reduce net speed if dth running time.

2. Dth any package/plan available and we can choose while order. Since I am looking primary tamil, sports and kids channels.. Will they do any dth odu dish setup?

3.some forums mentioned as airtel fiber exstream provide , satelite based or internet based dth ... which one they give while install and which dth model is better without affecting the net speed ..

4. Is dth will run if fiber connection not working time (if satelite based dth option)

5. Any difference satelite based dth and internet based dth option, plans, channels wise...

Pls share Your experience and comments. It will helpful me.to choose right option.

I use Airtel Black combo (fiber + iptv) and I find it worthy because I get more channels compared to Tata Play at reduced cost with 200 Mbps internet.

The speed reduction due to IPTV box is negligible because it uses 2-3 Mbps bandwidth maximum.

Airtel has curated packs for bundled fiber + IPTV plans. You will get the default pack channels initially but once connect is installed you can add more channels directly from STB or via miss call or Airtel Thanks app.

No, they won't do ODU DTH setup because Airtel has stopped providing DTH for bundled wifi connection after IPTV service launch.

Only internet based IPTV box is given by Airtel for bundled connections these days.

It is rain proof, unlike traditional dish antenna based DTH. So you would get less interruptions compared to DTH even during rainy days.

4. Is dth will run if fiber connection not working time (if satelite based dth option)
Since dish antenna based DTH is not provided now, this question is not relevant.

For IPTV service, if fiber internet goes down, the TV also goes down.

Only one channel difference, Star 4K channel is not available. Rest all things are the same.

Furthermore, the IPTV box is more advanced and having modern hardware & software compared to Xstream DTH box.

Few more clarification..

1.)Is 40 mb connection with iptv dth plan - 40 mb speed is good or enough for work from home office work from laptop AND teams call without lagging. Any thoughts ?

2) what are are the ott apps will come free wilth this 699 plan. Any Major otts available like star , sun , prime, netflix, fancode ?

Get fiber+iptv bro
IPTV stb is faster than latest dth stb also it doesn't lag at all.

Also storage is 16gb in iptv stb vs 12gb in dth stb. Android version is also android 14 in iptv vs dth one having android 12 which lags a lot

Yes, 40 Mbps should be enough for IPTV and work from home requirements.

But if some more heavy tasks devices connected like more mobile phones connected which are streaming videos or downloading something, the speed will be divided and connection might lag.

You can initially take 40 Mbps plan. If required, later on upgrade to 100 Mbps plan from Airtel Thanks app.

699 plan doesn’t include Netflix or Amazon Prime. The rest of the OTTs are included.

Airtel has been testing a new plan priced at 798. It will provide 40 Mbps speed along with Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+ and other OTTs.

You can read about it here: Airtel Fiber testing new Rs. 798 plan with 40 Mbps speed and Netflix, Apple TV+ and more OTTs
