Whenever a video is paying in the shots section of JioHotstar app (25.03.21.6 - Version is up to date and not enrolled in beta or anything), I found this two types of weird issues in two different android os and two common issue occurs on both which is checked on two different brands of mobile.
In Android 11, if the video is played in portrait mode, black screen is shown on the playback feed but the audio is working.
In Android 14, portrait mode is works well and there's no issue in the playback.
But, here comes the common issues.
1. On both android versions, once the video playback is changed to landscape mode, both playback feed is just stay back screen and no audio as well. But the video progress bar works as usual and plays upto its duration and ends.
2. Same on both android versions, once the brightness settings is changed in the shots videos and closes it, the adjusted brightness level is still stays the same until you closes the app. But it's not the same case with the normal video playback where once you modify the brightness and closes the video, the brightness level comes back to normal until you opens the another video again.
Cleared cache, data and reinstall is done and there's no use since this issue is not only limited to the new version but it's there for a while.
To check the above issue easily and quickly, one can simply go to ipl videos and play any of the little videos like pitch report, toss or captain speeches.
