In-car entertainment systems company Pioneer has launched its premium audio-video system, the Pioneer AVIC-F60BT, in India.

Pioneer, which has already promised to deliver Apple’s CarPlay in future entertainment systems, is touting the new console’s navigation capabilities. With navigation maps powered by MapmyIndia, users will find features such as a 3-D junction view, images of major traffic junctions and lane guidance. The AVIC-F60BT also boasts a hybrid navigation solution, which offers a high level of accuracy in identifying the car’s position, the company claims.

Other features of the system include a 13-band graphic equaliser, a personalised DJ Mixitrax for mixing tracks on the go, a digital signal processor for better audio output, and high-tolerance acoustic capacitors. The system can connect to Android and iOS devices with the built-in MirrorLink technology. Pioneer AVIC-F60BT is also compatible with Siri’s new eyes-free feature. In addition, the system brings accessibility features such as a steering wheel remote control, dual reverse camera option and HD video playback via USB/SD.

Commenting on the launch, Toshiyuki Shindo, managing director, Pioneer India Electronics said, “With the latest AVIC-F60BT, Pioneer India intends to revolutionise the in-car entertainment industry. AVIC stands for audio, video, information and communication – and AVIC-F60BT addresses it all.”
