Cards issued since 2020 already have QR codes printed on them. This project is a waste of tax payers money. The company that will get the contract for the card upgrades will surely give a kickback commission to the ruling government parties.

New pan 2.0 will be benefits for all citizens, banks customers who had submitted pan for financial also it will provide replacement for who havn't linked pan with aadhar for govt, tax purposes. A very smart move.

When ever I seen 2.0 Number automatically this scene comes in mind.

"Golmaal hai bhai sab golmaal hai

How can you explain please if someone has pan which isn't linked with Aadhaar how he can use this scheme. currently charges for the same is 1000INR.

i think the actual pan 2.0 once it will dispatched to tax players in major states of india will have real view of actual pan, how it can different from old pan 1.0. People's are reading articles on various sides are actually spreading wrong info.

Govt already said, they have different it system from curbing duplicate pan, frauds with pan by third party companies.

Speaking to QR code similar. we have to wait for someone will post the real image of pan design after getting it.

people's had old accounts from same bank having this issue. These people's didn't opened any new bank acc, using same bank since they opened their first bank account in life. This will have major isssue faced in banks. that's why pan 2.0 is also one of reason has been introduced. I heard this from some bank employee telling to someone customer relative.

Why not just use a common document like Aadhar card for all purposes? Anyway they have made it mandatory to link PAN to Aadhar, then why not just discontinue PAN altogether and use the aadhar number as the permanent account number? And since it's linked with biometrics, there can't be a duplicate number for the same person. Same can be used as voter id as well. Why not streamline all processes?
