Shahryar wrote in the letter that ‘Anurag Thakur, secretary BCCI, should make the series possible in December’.

He further stated that: “Politics is vulnerable to highs and lows and the sport of cricket should be kept away from it.”

“Cricket is a tool to formulate peace between the countries.”

He also highlighted the issue that BCCI has with Ten Sports.

“We have given the broadcasting rights to Ten Sports and Internationl Cricket Council (ICC) accepts the channel’s bid.”

Earlier, Shahryar said that the series between Pakistan and India was nearly impossible because of BCCI’s resistance.

On ICC president Zaheer Abbas’ suggestion to play the home series in India, Shahryar also stated that ‘we are not going to play our home series in India’.

Pakistan-India series: PCB writes letter to BCCI for confirmation - The Express Tribune

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hasn't lost hope of a bilateral series with India in December, and the PCB chairman Shahryar Khan has written a letter to the BCCI to confirm, according to The Express Tribune.

Urging his counterpart to keep cricket and politics separate, Khan has requested that the two board's should use cricket as a "tool to formulate peace" between the two estranged nations.

"Politics is vulnerable to highs and lows and the sport of cricket should be kept away from it," the Pakistan newspaper quoted Khan as saying. "Cricket is a tool to formulate peace between the countries."

Besides the tense political relations, broadcasting rights are another stumbling block for the series to go ahead with the BCCI having a contract with STAR and PCB bound with TEN Sports

"We have given the broadcasting rights to Ten Sports and International Cricket Council (ICC) accepts the channel's bid," the PCB chief said.

According to the newspaper, Khan wrote in the letter that "Anurag Thakur, secretary BCCI, should make the series possible in December".

The PCB chief has already ruled out the possibility of playing Pakistan's 'home' series in India, as suggested by ICC President Zaheer Abbas.
