Singapore: Leading global electronic
gadgets maker Oppo launched the
latest edition of its N series
smartphone at a grand event here on
Wednesday, featuring its unique
rotating camera, as also another
which it claimed was the world's
thinnest yet.

Besides featuring the much-loved
swivel camera feature, the N3 also
has the capability to capture pictures
in 360-degree mode, along with other
added elements like multi-angle,
wide-angle and panaromic shots.

In the midst of some 1,500 people,
representing the dealers, fans and
the media from 15 countries,
including India, at the Marina Bay
Sands Convention Centre here, Oppo
said its R5 high-definition phone is
the world's thinnest at just 4.85 mm
in width.

"The N3 was built and designed with
our users in mind. We took what our
users loved about N1 and made it
even better. The N3 is a perfect
demonstration of our commitment to
design and innovation," said Sky Li,
general manager, overseas mobile
phone business.

Li said the same was the case with
the R5. "We used cutting-edge
manufacturing techniques to create a
phone that fits perfectly into the
users' hands, and that feels
incredible," he said.

"The frame has been forged nine
times and then finished by hand to
give a perfect sheen and feel. It has a
quality that is not available anywhere
else in the industry."

The N3 focuses on detailing and its
16 megapixel camera can take high-
resolution images for high quality
prints.

It also showcases unique target-
tracking focus shift function - users
only need to identify the target in
focus and the camera will constantly
modify its angle to follow the moving
target, helping users create some
clear, pristine photos and videos.

As regards the R5, OPPO said it uses
what is called phase-change material
that keeps it at a constant cool
temperature while maintaining
functionality. It lets you shoot with a
maximum focus time of 0.18 seconds
and delivers 50 megapixel, high-def
picture clarity.

"The R5, like the rest of the R series
smartphones, delivers a truly stylish,
exquisite and distinctive design and
will continue to delight our
customers with its innovative yet
practical functions," said Li.

In addition to add to its user-friendly
functionalities, the R5 also includes
OPPO's mini rapid charging system,
where a 30-minute charge will
provide 75 per cent battery life and a
five-minute charge will allow for a
two-hour call.

Both smartphones will be available
from launch in the following markets:
Australia, Bangladesh, Egypt, India,
Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore,
Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE, Vietnam
and China.

In 2013, when OPPO launched the
N1, it was billed as the world's first
featuring a rotating camera. Its Find7
phone launched earlier this year was
designed to take 50 megapixel, ultra-
high-density pictures.

Thanks bhai & Yes this Oppo smartphone is one of the world ' s thinnest smartphone.

Oppo on Wednesday announced R5, an Android
phone that is just 4.85mm thick. This makes it
the world's slimmest phone.
However, this slimness comes at a price. The
R5 doesn't have the 3.5mm jack for a
headphone because its chassis is too thin to
accommodate one. But Oppo said that it would
sell the R5 with a headset that would use
microUSB port to connect to the phone.
In terms of hardware, the R5 is decidedly a
mid-range phone. It is powered by Qualcomm's
Snapdragon 615 processor. This is an 8-core
processor with Adreno 330 graphics processor.
The four cores in the device run at 2.1GHz
while the other four run at 1.5GHz.
The phone has a 5.5-inch screen with FullHD
resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage,
2000mAh battery. The R5 uses a frame made
of aluminium alloy.
The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera
and a 2-megapixel front camera. It runs
Android 4.4 customised with Oppo's Colour OS.
For now Oppo has not announced India-
specific launch plans for the R5. It will be first
launched in China with a price of around $491.
The global rollout is expected to start in
December.
