Renowned and award-winning company for personal audio products, Oppo Digital launched Sonica Wi-Fi speakers in India. The product is an AirPlay compatible speaker with Bluetooth capabilities and a companion smartphone and tablet app that makes management a breeze on the same network.
The speakers were first released on 20 May and will be available in India at Rs 29,999. The company plans to release two versions, larger version with seven drivers and the smaller version focused on mobility later.
The device software can decode audio files at 24-bit/192kHz from a range of devices that include mobile devices, USB drives, DLNA servers NAS drives. The formats supported by the speakers range from FLAC, WAV to Apple Lossless so that the quality does not take a hit. The software and hardware support to the stellar range of storage and container technologies is improved with the inclusion of adaptive antennae with MU-MIMO technology for robust connectivity for 2.5 and 5 GHz bands on 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
The speaker enables the user to use every speaker in the proximity to play the same music simultaneously on all speakers for a unique experience. Igor Levitsky, worked on Acoustic and tuning for the Sonica and he previously worked on the OPPO PM-series planar magnetic headphones.
“Sonica is an elegant and powerful Wi-Fi speaker designed with state of the art technology delivering unbeatable sound quality in a compact package. India is an important market for us and hence, the product has been almost simultaneously launched for the music lovers here after a test run in the United States of America,” added Christopher Vick, Product Design Head – OPPO Digital, USA.
