Launched in China in November last year, the
OPPO A57 has finally made its way to India. Priced at Rs 14,990, the smartphone will be available in the country from February 3. The OPPO A57 is targeted at the selfie enthusiasts as it features a 16-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and a beautification mode, Beautify 4.0, which the company claims delivers better selfies even in low light.

The OPPO A57 features a metal unibody design with a capsule shaped home button on the front that also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will be available in gold and rose gold color options.

The smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. At the heart of the smatphone runs a Snapdragon 435 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

Along with a 16-megapixel front camera, the OPPO A57 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF laser focus. The smartphone is armed with a 2,900mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB, OTG support and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the smartphone runs ColorOS 3.0 UI on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

At the given price and specifications, the OPPO A57 will be taking on popular under Rs 15,000 Android smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Motorola Moto G4 Plus.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, priced at Rs 9,999, features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D Curved Glass on top. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz coupled with 3/4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 13-megapixel lens on the rear. Up front, the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Armed with a 4,100mAh battery, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner and runs on Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.

The Moto G4 Plus, priced at Rs 13,499, comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It further comes with 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower support, the smartphone supports storage expansion up to 128GB and include connectivity options like 4G LTE, and dual-SIM support.
