OnePlus One was recently spotted on benchmarking website, GeekBench running
Google ’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS, while the OnePlus Two was spotted on GFXBench also running the Nougat OS. OnePlus 2’s GFXBench report shows the device running the Android 7.1 with a subtext saying ‘Invalid CynogenMod (userdebug / test-keys)’.
If the Geekbench report is correct, OnePlus will be surprising its customers by bringing Android Nougat to a phone that is two generations old – the OnePlus One. The OnePlus One is already more than two and a half years old, and is being obliged with the new OS even though OnePlus was obliged to provide software updates for a maximum of 24 months.
The new GeekBench score on model OnePlus A0001 (OnePlus One) shows a 976 single-core score and 2521 multi-core score. It also shows the device to be running on Android 7.0. The problem however is the fact that the Snapdragon 801 processor is said to be incompatible with Nougat – not having the Vulcan graphics API support.
There has been no official announcement made by OnePlus on either of the devices running the latest Android OS.
Just last month OnePlus had announced on one of its forums that it will be rolling out VoLTE support for the OnePlus 2 via an OTA update. The company made no announcements of either the OnePlus one or the OnePlus X receiving VoLTE support.
OnePlus is reported to be currently working on a new version of the OnePlus 3, which is being called the OnePlus 3T. The new device is expected to be launched in November and feature an upgraded chipset – the Snapdragon 821. The price tag on the phone is also suppose to increase as per reports.
