OnePlus on Friday announced that the soft gold variant of the OnePlus 3 phone will be available for buying, starting from October 1, from Amazon India. The soft gold variant of the OnePlus 3 will sell for the same price - Rs 27,999 - as the incumbent graphite variant.
"The OnePlus 3 soft gold version has caught the imagination of our Indian fans and we are pleased to bring the popular variant just in time for the festival season. The soft gold variant perfectly blends in with the celebratory fervor and is the perfect gift you can give yourself or to your loved ones this Diwali," Vikas Agarwal, general manager, OnePlus India said.
Boasting of a full-metal unibody, the OnePlus 3 ditches OnePlus' sort of iconic sandstone finish design, for a more premium, lighter and thinner experience. It comes with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner which is claimed to unlock the phone in mere 0.2 seconds.
The OnePlus 3 comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data-syncing purposes, a bottom-facing speaker out and dualSIM (nanoSIM) support.
It comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD AMOLED display with a 1920x1080 pixels resolution and curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass 4 on the front. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (clocked up to 2.2GHz) processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is non-expandable. The phone supports 4G LTE and NFC connectivity options and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygetOS 3.1.2 out-of-the-box.
The OnePlus 3 sports a 16-megapixel camera (Sony IMX 298) on the rear with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation. On the front, you get an 8-megapixel camera.
The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which is non-removable and supports the company's in-house fast charging solution it calls Dash Charging. The accompanying Dash Charger is capable of charging the phone to up to 60 per cent in just 30 minutes.
