Nokia launched its most affordable entry-level mobile phone in the Indian market and it goes by the name – Nokia 105. This device is far simpler than the smartphones which are dominating the market, but Nokia’s entry-level handheld is for a much different consumer.

The phone was showcased at MWC earlier this year and with the launch of the Nokia 105, the company marks the end of its black and white screen phones. The Nokia 105 is officially priced at Rs. 1,249 and the company claims it to have a battery life of 35 days on standby mode and up to 12.5 hours of talk time.

Nokia is mainly targeting first time mobile buyers with this device by offering it with a colored display and an extremely affordable price. “The Nokia 105 marks the end of black & white screen era in the Indian handset market. Our most affordable device – the Nokia 105, with some of the best category features, is the ideal handset for first time buyers to enjoy the benefits and experiences of mobility,” said Viral Oza, Marketing Director, Nokia India.

The specifications are quite basic as the phone is likely targeted for consumers who are not much interested in smartphones (the elderly folk) or those who want a secondary phone simply for the purpose of calling.

The Nokia 105 has a 1.4-inch LCD Transmissive display, it weighs just 70 grams and measures 107×44.8×14.3 mm in dimensions. It is equipped with 8MB of mass storage, has 384KB of RAM and is packed with an 800 mAh battery. This handheld also includes a flashlight, FM radio, basic games and multiple alarm clocks.
