Virtual reality is the next big thing in technology. From Facebook to HTC, every major tech company wants to make this the next big technology after iPhone.

While virtual reality will take years to mainstream, the biggest hurdle is the lack of devices to shoot VR videos. Nico360, however, seems to be the solution to all our concern.
Nico360 is the smallest 360 degree camera yet. Just don’t judge by its size, it packs great specifications too. Nico360 can be seen as the GoPro among 360 degree cameras.

Nico360 seems to be inspired by GoPro in terms of design and is considerably smaller than Ricoh Theta S or Samsung Gear 360. Nico360 looks like a square and comes with a 1400mAh battery, larger than the 1350mAh battery found inside Gear 360 or Ricoh Theta S.

While Ricoh Theta S is only capable of recording full HD videos, Nico360 can record 2560 x 1440 resolution videos at 30 frames per second. It also comes with 32GB inbuilt storage for saving all those footages shot in 360 degrees.

Nico360 features dual 16MP aspherical lens which translates to a resolution of 32 megapixels. It can capture still photos at 360 degree in max resolution of 25 megapixels, which should be good enough for Facebook post.

Nico360 is waterproof which makes it readily usable at adventure sports and can be docked to bike or car with supplied mounts. Nico360’s biggest differentiator will be the ability to livestream 360 degree videos without connecting to a PC. The camera supports both 5G WiFi and Bluetooth standards.

Nico360 is small but equally powerful too (atleast on paper it is). The 360 degree camera is currently listed on fundraising website Indiegogo. The backing starts at as low as 10 dollars but to get one, you will need to back the developers with 99 dollars.

Nico360 expects to start shipping the device by October 2016 and teh estimated retail price is set at 199 dollars, which is way cheaper than Samsung Gear 360 or Ricoh Theta S.
