After Flipkart teased the launch of the Nexus 6 in India, the e-commerce site has begun taking pre-orders for the device today. Both, the 32GB and 64GB variants are now available for pre-order on the e-commerce site, and are priced at Rs 44,000 and Rs 49,000 respectively.
Flipkart is giving EMI options with various banks from 3 to 24 months with Interest rate wavering from 12 percent to 15 percent for different EMI plans. The e-commerce site is also giving out a product exchange offer, where you could get at least Rs 10,000 discount in exchange of your old smartphone. The discounts vary depending on the device you exchange and is only applicable with select devices and select regions.
Flipkart warns that, in case you wish to return the Nexus 6, the old exchanged smartphone will not be returned back to the customer. Flipkart gives you the option to courier the old device to a mentioned address or ask for a person to come and take the device personally for which they incur additional charges.
They are also giving Rs 1,500 cashback to all HDFC and ICICI card holders purchasing on 6/9/12 month EMI option, free pre-selected Flipkart e-books worth Rs 2,100 and three months of free subscription of Flipkart First (the e-commerce site’s premium service with additional benefits).
Just ahead of the pre-orders, the site seems to have crashed and was showing an internal server error message on the Nexus 6 landing page. However, it soon recovered and is now taking pre-orders successfully. The Flipkart app, however, was taking pre-orders successfully and seems to be working fine from the word go.
In terms of hardware specification, the Nexus 6 smartphone sports a 5.96-inch QHD AMOLED display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution and 493 ppi pixel density. The device is powered by a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 420 GPU. On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel shooter at back, and a 2-megapixel snapper upfront. It packs an impressive 3,220mAh battery.
It runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software out of the box, and comes with Motorola’s Turbo Charger, which as per the company’s claims can give users 6-hours of battery life at 15 minutes of charging.
The Nexus 6 is also listed on Google Play Store where the pre-orders have not yet begun. The phone was announced by Google last month, and unlike the past two years where LG made the Nexus smartphone, Google has picked Motorola to be its partner for Nexus 6.
