India are likely to host New Zealand for a return series towards the end of next year, according to a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official.
India are set to tour New Zealand in January-February after the ongoing South Africa tour. "We are trying to invite New Zealand for our next home series in October-November," a top BCCI source told PTI.
As per the International Cricket Council's existing Future Tours Programme, West Indies were to visit India in the 2014-15 season.
But with Windies having completed a whistle-stop tour last month that also signalled Sachin Tendulkar's farewell from the game, BCCI is now mulling over inviting the Kiwis to fill in the slot.
New Zealand's calendar is uncluttered in October 2014, though they are slated to play an away Test and ODI series against Pakistan in November.
