During a press conference today at the O2 Arena, London, Triple H revealed a 16-man tournament, set to air on the WWE Network in January, will take place to determine the first ever UK Champion.
Accompanying Triple H at the event were the first ever WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor, NXT GM William Regal, and British wrestling legend Nigel McGuinness (aka TNA’s Desmond Wolfe). McGuinness will work alongside RAW’s Michael Cole to provide commentary for the tournament.
Balor notes the tournament is designed to bridge the gap between British indy wrestling and WWE, and will “supercharge the U.K. and Irish wrestling scene." Here’s a look at everyone involved:
