Nestle is relaunching its Maggi Atta and Oats noodles in the Indian market via Snapdeal . Like the smartphone flash sales model, you need to register for a special limited edition of ‘Maggi Atta & Oats Kits. The registration has begun today 12pm and will continue till 11pm on April 23. Registered users can buy the noodles during the exclusive sale on April 24 starting from 10 AM till 3 PM. Snapdeal is offering free shipping for the first 20,000 orders.
In addition, customers can find other Maggi products on ‘House of Maggi ’ on Snapdeal. Maggi will be available on Snapdeal after the sale is over but you may have to wait for a few days to be buy from the new stock.
It is not the first time Maggi has gone on sale online. The government last year had banned Maggi for alleged containing lead more than permissible levels. According to reports, Nestle India suffered Rs 450 crore loss due to the ban and even had to destroy over 30,000 tonnes of the instant noodles.
Five months after the ban, Nestle launched Maggi in the country. The company tied up with Snapdeal to launch the noodles online in order to create buzz around the relaunch. The strategy did quite work well for both Snapdeal and Nestle India.
Earlier this year, Nestle India had relaunched the chicken variant of Maggi noodles via a similar preview sale. Like the current sales model, customers needed to register in advance to buy the limited edition of the noodles through the e-commerce site.
