Former England skipper Nasser Hussain has once again rubbed the Indians the wrong way as he called some of the fielders "donkeys" during the one-off Twenty20 match between India and England on Wednesday.

Sitting in the commentary box, Hussain made the controversial comment after Parthiv Patel misjudged a Kevin Pietersen catch off Munaf Patel's bowling.

"I would say the difference between the two side is the fielding. England are all-round a good fielding side. I do believe that India have few...3or 4 very good fielders and one or two donkeys in the field still," Hussain said.

His unwanted comment invited criticism from all corners. "It is not acceptable and no one has any right to say such things, ever for your own team. It's a gentleman game and the BCCI should send a strong letter to the International Cricket Council to avoid such things in future," Pakistan legend Zaheer Abbas told a TV channel.

I wonder how come the news channels missed this story and not making a sensation.....

I think you are not watching the news channels. A lot of discussions about this "donkey issue" are going on in all news channels.

Yes certainly till today morning i was not aware...since then which ever news site i log in ...they are running this story....

So whats next apology from Hussain.....news channels have got a bite for today and they run this till the tomorrow before the match starts...

to be honest Hussain said the correct thing...what would have happened if an indian commentator said this?

Btw why Manjerekar & chappel are not part of the commentary team as they are associated with ESS...I feel this is the reason india is loosing....

BCCI taking up commentators issue with ECB: Shukla

NEW DELHI: Taking strong objection to former England captain Nasser Hussain's comparison of Indian cricketers to 'donkeys', the BCCI on Monday decided to take up the issue with the English Cricket Board (ECB).

Hussain had made the comment after Parthiv Patel misjudged a Kevin Pietersen's catch off Munaf Patel's bowling during the one-off twenty20 match between India and England in Manchester.

"The BCCI is taking up the matter with the English Cricket Board, which engage such commentators. We are trying to take up the matter with them," BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said.

"Such comments are totally inappropriate and uncalled for. They should be severely condemned.

"Commentators who make such comments, should abstain from saying such things. We are taking up the matter with the English Cricket Board," he added.

Shukla also indicated that the BCCI would ask the ECB not to hire such commentators in future, who make comments against players and teams which are not in good taste.
