:c I upgraded my Windows 8 to much awaited Windows 8.1. Here are my experience on this upgrade.
:sp After Upgrade:
Few more points....
- For windows 8 users this upgrade is available through Windows Store only. So all PC must connect to Windows Store, individually, to get this upgrade. Almost 3-4 GB download requires for this.
- This upgrade works with just one single click. Good job by Microsoft.
:sp After Upgrade:
- :k Looks to me everything working fine. Video, audio, Ethernet, wireless etc almost all drivers up to date & working.
- Start button is back but no start menu in it. Only few Control panel items listed there. But its just ok.
- Installed much awaited Facebook apps. Looks great.
hya
- Installed few more good games from Windows stores.
- :skd After few hrs of use realize that some thing not good with the laptop.
- Add-on graphics card not working. Due to tech issue windows blocked it. So only on-board Intel HD card is working. High graphics based Game not working well.
- Zonealarm firewall has compatibility issue & not working. Only Windows firewall for time being. This issue is solved after ZoneAlarm firewall 12.0.104.000 is released on Oct 29, 2013.
- Laptop battery drains faster & heat issue. But this gets solve after I downloaded & installed driver for my external display card from dell website. But still high graphics game not working smoothly.
Few more points....
- Now we have more options with the tiles, like number of size option increased. We can set small, medium, wide & large size. Also We can categorize with naming a set of tiles. :tup
- IE 11 with this upgrade. But I hardly use it as I love surfing with firefox only. But one bad thing is, even after this upgrade, there is update for IE11. These are security related update. Total size of all IE 11 related update is almost 68MB. I wonder why this much size needed as browser like firefox is available in just 22 MB. :wall
