Reliance Communications will soon be migrating the CDMA customers of MTS to its own 4G network.
An error message is displayed when a non Rcom or MTS number is entered in the 4G migration section which is indicative of the merger between MTS and Rcom being in the final stage. The report added that Rcom will be following the same procedure as it did with its CDMA customers in order to leverage MTS’ 850 MHz spectrum for its LTE expansion.
RCom is currently in process of merging its wireless operations with MTS. The merger is awaiting final nod of DoT . Post the merger, MTS subscribers will be able to migrate to Rcom.
The Anil Ambani-led telco is expected to close its all-stock acquisition of SSTL by the end of this month, as reported by ET Telecom earlier.
Last November, RCom had announced acquisition of Sistema's Indian telecom unit which was to create an operator with 118 million subscribers. The acquisition will allow RCom to extend itsvalidity of its licence by 12 years in the circles of Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, UP (West) and West Bengal.
