After teasing the launch of the Droid Turbo aka Moto Maxx in the Indian market, e-retailer Flipkart has now put the phone on pre-order as Moto Turbo. The smartphone has been priced at INR 41,999 and will start shipping in the third-week of March.
Motorola is offering the Black variant of the phone in the country, which sports ballistic nylon on the back of the phone.
Originally introduced in the United States in October 2014 as Droid Turbo and a month later in Brazil as Moto Maxx, the Moto Turbo smartphone features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560x1440p) AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also packs 64GB of internal storage, 3900 mAh battery, NFC, 3G and the usual set of connectivity options.
On the imaging front, the Moto Turbo comes with a 21MP f2.0 rear camera with dual-LED flash and 2MP front shooter. In addition, the phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and includes Motorola’s usual software enhancements.
It is the sixth smartphone (seventh if you include Google Nexus 6) in Motorola’s India portfolio. The company also offers the Moto E, Moto G (2013), Moto G (2014), Moto X (2013), and Moto X (2014) in the country and is set to release the Moto E (2nd Gen) in the next couple of days.
