An unannounced Motorola Moto X3 smartphone with 5-inch display was recently spotted on India’s import and export database. It could be the successor to the Moto X Style.
Motorola , which is now a subsidiary of Lenovo , seems to be working on a new smartphone called Moto X3. The smartphone was recently spotted on import/export database site Zauba as it entered India for testing. While the database listing usually reveals basic specifications and features, this time around it only reveals that that alleged smartphone features a 5-inch display.
As there’s no mention about the screen resolution, it’s unclear if the X3 would be a high-end smartphone or not. Other confusing bit is – we never really saw the Moto X2, instead the company released the Moto X (second-generation). Also, the Moto X (third-generation) was released as Moto X Style in India. However, as Zauba has been reliable in revealing the name of several unannounced smartphones, we would be inclined to assume that the upcoming device could be called the Moto X3. More likely, there are changes that upon launch, the smartphone could carry ‘Moto by Lenovo’ tag.
Last week, two unannounced Moto smartphones with model number XT1700 and XT1706 were also spotted on GFXBench. Sporting 5-inch HD (720p) displays, MediaTek quad-core processors paired with 2GB of RAM and running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, both smartphones are suspected to be the upcoming Moto E-series.
At this moment, it’s unclear as to how the XT1700 and XT1706 compared with Moto X3, but we hope to find out as and when more details pour in.
