Motorola has been quite swift in rolling out Android Nougat update for its smartphones. After rolling out Nougat update for the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto Z, the company has now started rolling out Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for the Moto X Style .

The Moto X Style has been spotted running on Android Nougat, and the update is believed to being rolled out in phases, GSMArena reports. Earlier this month Moto X Play was also spotted on GFXBench running on Android 7.1 Nougat. Other smartphones that are in line to get Android Nougat update include the Moto X Force, Moto Z Play, and the Nexus 6.

Android Nougat brings in a host of new features, including multi-window support, which allows users to use two apps at the same time and double tap to switch between them. The update also fixes bugs and also brings performance improvements. The update further helps users save battery and consume less memory when screen is turned off, which further helps saving battery life. Google has also tweaked the notifications panel with ‘reply via notification’ feature, which will let you reply to text messages without having to open the app. Google has also included a Daydream VR mode in Android Nougat.

Moto X Style specifications, features

The Moto X Style sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, Qualcomm’s 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, and 3GB of RAM.

On the photography front, it comes with a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with front-facing flash. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, it comes with a TurboPower feature that can charge from zero to 50 percent in 15 minutes. It also comes with a nanocoating to protect the handset from splash of water. In terms of connectivity, the handset includes dual-SIM, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Apart from the Moto smartphones, some of the Sony devices that are scheduled to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update include the Xperia Z4 tablet, Zperia Z3+, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 compact. Recently, HTC rolled out the update to its HTC 10 and One M9 smartphones. Xiaomi has also lately announced that its devices – Mi 4c , Mi 4s , Mi Note and Mi Max will be the first smartphones to receive the Android Nougat update in the coming days.
