Motorola has started teasing launch of a new smartphone in India. On its Twitter handle, Motorola India has put up an image of a smartphone featuring a larger battery life. The caption of the tweeted image reads, “#FearOfMissingOut on power to last the day? Soon you’ll #NeverMissOut on all day battery. #ComingSoon.” The teaser clearly hints at a smartphone with a strong battery power and it could most likely be the Moto E3 Power, which is rumored to come with a 3,500mAh battery.
Interestingly, the Moto E3 Power has been made available for purchase in Hong Kong even before the official announcement.
GSMArena hasposted pictures of the Moto E3 Power with its packaging. More information about the smartphone comes via the recent Zauba listing of an announced Motorola smartphone. According to the listing on the Indian import-export site, the smartphone with codename XT1706 could be the Moto E3 Power. It seems Motorola might launch two variants of the smartphone, Moto E3 and a Moto E3 Power with bigger battery.
That said, rumors around the Moto E3 Power have been doing the rounds online for quite some time now. The Moto E3 Power recently received Wi-Fi certification with the recently spotted codename XT1706. The smartphone is another variant of the Moto E3 which was announced earlier in July and would be available in the US starting September. The most striking difference in the Moto E3 Power and the Moto E3 is the battery size as the former has a 3,500mAh battery while the latter comes with a 2,800mAh battery.
The Moto E3 is priced at $131 which roughly translates to Rs 8,900. The Moto E3 was announced with very little information about its specifications. What is known is that the Moto E3 features a 5-inch HD (720p) display with a quad-core processor running under the hood. The chipset is not known and the RAM, internal storage isn’t known as well but the smartphone has a microSD card slot. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by a 2,800mAh with connectivity options like dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
On the other hand, the Moto E3 Power is rumored to come with same 5-inch HD display. It is likely to run a MediaTek quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. For photography, the smartphone is expected to sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Other rumored features include 16GB of internal storage, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and offers connectivity options like dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Moto E3 Power in Hong Kong is priced at HKD 1,098 which is Rs 9,487 approximately. If launched in India, the smartphone could face tough competition from the recently launched
Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime . which is priced at Rs 8,999. The Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime is powered by a bigger 4,100mAh battery, which will be a tough gap to fill considering the Moto E3 Power’s strength being its battery size.
