Motorola, or Moto as it is known now,
launched two phones last month- Moto Z and
Moto Z Force. But before and after the
event there were rumours about Moto Z Play
phone, which is codenamed Vertex. While, all
the Moto Z and Z Force are expected to be
launched in India in September, a Zauba
listing shows the Moto Z Play has already
arrived in India.
An import listing revealed by Zauba shows
that the company has imported a few units
of the Moto Z Play to India. It is highly likely
that the phone will be launched in India soon.
According to the listing, the Moto Z Play,
which is rumoured to be the successor to last
year's Moto X Play, has a 5.5-inch AMOLED
display with 1080p resolution.
Earlier reports have suggested that the
phone will come with octa-core Qualcomm
Snapdragon 625 processor running at
2.2GHz. The Moto Z Play will be powered by
3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The Moto Z Play will carry a 16-megapixel
rear camera and pack in a 3,500mAh
battery. The phone is expected to come with
Android 6.1 Marshmallow at the launch.
The leaked photos of Moto Vertex (Z Play)
show a fingerprint scanner under the
display, just like the Moto Z and Moto Z
Force. The phone is also expected to support
Moto Mods, which were launched along with
the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
Since Moto Z and Moto Z Force pack powerful
hardware and will possibly be on the higher
side of pricing, the Moto Z Play is expected
to be priced under Rs 20,000 since the Moto
X Play was launched at Rs 18,499.
The phone will face tough competition from
Xiaomi's recently launched Mi Max. The
phablet has been priced at Rs 19,999 for
4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage
variant.
