Moto M users to soon receive Android 7.0 Nougat update

Motorola India recently announced rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones. Now, the company has confirmed its latest Moto M smartphone will also be soon recieving Android Nougat update. The Moto M was launched in India yesterday. The smartphone is priced at Rs 15,999 for the 32GB variant and 17,999 for the 64GB variant. The device will go on sale starting today midnight via Flipkart at 11:59PM IST.

Though, Motorola has not revealed a particular timeframe for rolling out the update. While Moto M users will get a notification whenever the update hits their devices, users can also manually check if the update is available by heading over to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update.

The Nougat update brings a slew of new features for Android users. It comes with multi-window support, allowing users to use two apps simultaneously and double tap to switch between them. The update also brings improved doze mode for longer battery life, bundled notifications and quick reply to messages via notifications. The Android N also helps consume less memory when screen is turned off which further helps saving battery life.

The Moto M isn’t the only Motorola smartphone to get the Nougat update. The company has already announced that it will also soon roll out the update for its Moto Z and Moto Z Force high end phones. The update for these devices will be rolled out by end of this week. One of the key features of the update is support for Daydream VR platform.

Apart from Motorola smartphones, Sony has also started rolling out update for the Xperia XZ smartphone in India. Along with the Xperia XZ,
Sony has also promised the Nougat update for its other smartphones such as the Xperia Z3 Plus , Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact , Xperia X , Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X Performance , and Xperia X Compact. Android Nougat will also be available for smartphones from other companies such as HTC 10 , HTC One A9 , HTC One M9 , Samsung Galaxy S7 , Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Note 7 and Xiaomi Mi 5 o name a few.
