London, June 17 (ANI): Gloomy Ashley Cole was brightened up by a mysterious message on his mobile phone while on a lads' holiday in Los Angeles.
The Chelsea and England star, who broke up with wife Cheryl last year, looked 'lovesick and thoroughly fed-up' but broke into smiles and laughter after receiving the uplifting text and soon showed it off to his football mates Shaun Wright-Phillips, 29, and Zat Knight, 31.
"Thank goodness he got something that cheered him up," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.
The source also said that despite being a famous personality, he hardly showed interest in girls around the pool at his luxury Beverly Hills hotel.
"Instead he was constantly texting, until he received the message that transformed him, he added.
